General Information
This is a gathering of former students, faculty or anyone with a past or present association with the Bushton, Kansas school(s). This is a social event being held strictly for the fun and enjoyment of socializing. We will try to provide an atmosphere that allows all to enjoy the company of others that have somehow participated in the “Bushton experience”. Although the main Alumni Meeting & Social is scheduled for Saturday evening, we are encouraging all to attend as many informal gatherings as possible. Best Western – Angus Inn has a large commons area to gather during the day and into the evening. Individual classes are welcome to schedule any other activities of their choosing. There will be tables and chairs available for your convenience.

Hotel Information:
The Best Western, Great Bend, Kansas is providing the lodging and support required for us to hold this event. You will need to make your own reservations if you choose to stay at this hotel. Please identify yourself as an attendee of the Bushton High School Alumni Banquet to obtain any special
rate and placement in our reserved block of rooms. The toll free reservation number is provided above. You are not required to stay at this hotel to participate in any of the reunion activities.

Bushton High School History:
The first graduating class of Bushton Rural High School was in 1919. The last graduating class was in 1976. Starting in the fall of 1976, the Bushton school building was utilized as the high school building for Quivira Heights High School, being a consolidated school of students from the Bushton, Holyrood, and Lorraine areas and were part of USD#328. With bonds approved in 1997, a new building was provided. After the consolidation with Claflin, the District of Central Plains #112 was formed and the school was used as a Middle School building. Later USD #112 closed the building with the students being moved to other locations. The present building in Bushton is now owned by the City of Bushton and contains the City offices, Farmer Township Library, some small businesses and space providing other activities.
Scholarship Fund:
The original Bushton High School Scholarship Fund is now being given to graduates of Central Plains USD #112 High School located in Claflin, KS. Any donations to this fund would be greatly appreciated.
